This is a great league to play in if you like the speed of play to be fast.  The indoor league is our standard 5 v 5 futsal league with the low bounce ball.  This game has helped Ronaldino develop his skills.

The benefit to a Soccer player, of playing Futsal style matches under the pressure of restricted time, space and pressure, is an improvement in:

  • Speed of locomotion (speed of sprint)
  • Speed of action/reaction with the ball
  • Speed of action/reaction without the ball
  • Speed of decision-making
  • Speed of anticipation
  • Speed of perceptional and visual processing
  • Speed of performing soccer specific skills
  • Speed in changing directions
  • Speed at which feints can be performed
  • Speed at which defense is played
  • Speed of fast breaks
  • Speed of transition from Attack to Defense
  • Speed of transition from Defense to Attack
  • Speed of goalkeepers reactions
  • Speed of team combination play
  • Speed of action converting all other aspects of speed into simply playing faster

 Physical Conditioning

A typical high school soccer player runs 3 to 5 miles (click here) in a full 90 minute outdoor soccer game on a narrow football field (distance run varies by position played and style of play of team).  The same player in a 40 minute Futsal style match, with a team playing a dynamic system of play, will run 2.5 miles as striker, 3.1 miles as defender and 3.7 miles as an wing midfielder.

soccer futsal
The Dome offers the only full sized indoor soccer field, open to the public, in the state of Indiana.  Our 60yds x 100yds field in covered with pro style artificial turf and a 6 story high ceiling.

The Dome is once again offering many different kinds of indoor soccer, commonly called futsal. Have all the fun of outdoors while playing on professional style turf with no walls to impede developing your touch.

Futsal is played throughout the world as an alternative to outdoor soccer because walls are NEVER used. The whole purpose of this league is to continue working on developing touch, seeing the field and ball control.  This league is for individuals and teams. Sign up now as we are only taking a limited number of teams.

The Dome also offers 3 short soccer fields or commonly referred to as Futsal Fields.  Field dimensions are 25yds x 60yds.  Unfortunately, many experienced, “professional” outdoor players and coaches regularly have heartburn over traditional boarded indoor fields. They tolerate it, and even played it during the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, but a troubling number continues to oppose boarded indoor soccer philosophically and politically. Some professional coaches singularly advocate for board-less soccer in an effort to maintain and “outdoor” environment. Therefore, you often hear sarcastic references to boarded soccer as “pinball” or “ping-pong” that creates lazy habits in the indoor player.
